The new STILLE Diamond line represents a major break-through in surgical instrumentation. The instruments are fully coated with a unique Diamond-Like Carbon layer creating a surface 50% harder than industry standards, as well as auto-lubricating. This leads to sharper edges, longer durability and improved resistance to new, tougher disinfection and sterilization processes.

Setting the new industry standards of eco-efficiency
30 years ago we created the benchmark in surgical scissors – the original STILLE SuperCut Scissors – to which all others would have to measure. The development team of STILLE has now partnered with experts in material technology to invent a coating solution that redefines industry standards. The new Chrome-free coating process is not only more environmental friendly, but also improves the well-documented durability of STILLE SuperCut Scissors. XE as in Extended durability and Eco-efficiency.
A new chrome free coating process
There is a strong drive for replacing chrome in production driven by health safety, environmental concerns and the demand for sustainability and eco-efficiency. The new STILLE coating process is based on a thin layer diamond-like-carbon proprietary technology, aiming to reduce discoloration, improve instrument durability and help to create a more sustainable environment.
Even more sustainable to tough sterilization processes
By changing to the new coating of STILLE SuperCut Scissors, we also deliver a superior product with a black coating that has shown to be many times more resistant to wear than the normal industry standard black chrome coating. The new STILLE SuperCut XE scissors will last even longer and resist your sterile process better. The new coating is validated to withstand the more common hydro peroxide processes, such as Oxivario disinfection and Sterrad sterilization. Simply put a better product. The same Superior cutting experience as before, but still at the same pricing and with STILLE’s unique 30 year warranty!
Castro, a-15 year old Sumatran tiger residing at the Sacramento Zoo suffered from kidney stones with need of minimally invasive surgery. The tiger needed stents to be inserted from his kidney into his bladder in order to provide relief from the stones. About 30 different specialists from the Sacramento Zoo, UC Davis and the Sutter Medical Group participated in the procedure which was enabled thanks to charity. Stille helped by donating the imagiQ imaging table, a prerequisite to position and move the tiger during such a complex procedure. Castro is reported to have come through the operation like a champ.
Sumatran tigers are critically endangered and found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, off the Malaysian Peninsula. Fewer than 500 Sumatran tigers are believed to exist in the wild, and approximately 200 live in zoos around the world.
